There was an all-day trade show and lobbyist training, fishing, skeet shooting — even a haunted ghost tour. But the overshadowing takeaway from the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) Southeast Chapter Fall Convention was this: the critical need to raise awareness about the positive economic and environmental impact of the scrap recycling industry, which generates more than $105 billion annually in U.S.
What happens in Vegas? Well, every other April, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries’ (ISRI) Annual Convention & Expo does. And this month, luck was on the side of scrap recyclers from across the country when a rise in ferrous scrap prices also happened as many were headed to the show at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
