ELECTRIC GUARD DOG CEO JACK DEMAO SPARKS ATTENTION AT SIA CONFERENCE
COLUMBIA, SC - November 22, 2011: Electric Guard Dog's application of the Security as a Service (SaaS) model to perimeter security drew attention at the Security Industry Association's "Securing New Ground."
While most companies adhered to recession-proof-models by paring down service and reducing prices, the Electric Guard Dog Team made a bold break. Investing heavily in technical and customer support they grew the employee roster by 56%. The investment paid off: Electric Guard Dog's business grew 63%, and customers now tout Electric Guard Dog as the "#1 Theft Deterrent Service in the U.S."
CEO Jack DeMao explained, "We have a unique product that provides the initial appeal, then we bundle all customer costs for installation, maintenance, monitoring, and training into a single monthly fee. It's a highly cost-effective value proposition. We have a net attrition rate of only 4%; due to the fact our customers have a high payback. They have virtually no break-ins, deductibles increases, insurance hikes, or repair costs." DeMao continued, "Crazy levels of service may be required to keep the customer long enough for us to get a return. The goal is to go beyond sticky to indispensable." DeMao further advocated exploring new technologies, while maintaining margins by honoring the core business model.
DeMao was selected as speaker after Electric Guard Dog premiered at #29 on SDM's 2011 List of the Top 100 Security Companies in the U.S., as well as Inc.'s 2011 500/5000 List of the Fastest Growing Private Companies.
Fellow "It's Not Your Father's RMR: And What Is It Worth, Anyway?" panelists included Patrick Egan, President of Select Security and J. Matthew Ladd, President of the Protection Bureau. Jeff Kessler of Imperial Capital moderated the session.
