The History of Electric Guard Dog
Our first guard dog had real teeth.
Since those startup days in 1973, we have evolved into a multi-faceted security business, best known for our patented Electric Guard Dog (U.S. Patent No. 4220949) perimeter security, developed by company founder Bill Mullis.
Bill installed the first Electric Guard Dog at his own place of business in 1991. He nurtured the business over the next 17 years and captured a dominant share of the national perimeter security market. Still, as recent national crime statistics prove, the need for perimeter security fencing keeps growing.
To meet this ever-increasing demand for Electric Guard Dog, Bill completed a development strategy that included bringing in a group of like-minded investors. Along with newly appointed CEO Jack DeMao, the investors are eager to implement Bill's goals of national, and even international, expansion. Bill will continue to serve as a consultant and spokesperson for the company, as well as a member of the Board of Directors.
Jack DeMao, the new CEO, received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Harvard. His specialty is helping companies build infrastructure and accelerate growth.
Since Jack's arrival, Electric Guard Dog has seen many positive changes. The number of field technicians has increased to 29 - strategically placed across the U.S. We've also added to our customer service ranks and implemented system changes for an improved customer service experience.
Jack believes that becoming an Electric Guard Dog customer is like hiring a security partner. He is dedicated to solving customers' security issues. This comes across in his willingness to understand a customer's needs through on-site assessments. After all, the best way to determine the security solutions is to see a customer's property first hand.
Providing perimeter security is what we do. We are proud to partner with over 2,000 commercial and industrial companies across the nation, helping them protect their businesses and provide a safer environment for their employees.
Electric Guard Dog: safe, dependable, cost effective perimeter security.
