The 33rd annual Idealease meeting took place in Scottsdale, Arizona. Idealease, Inc., a nationally renowned commercial truck lease and rental company, celebrated this year’s event with the theme “ONE Idealease.” Dan Murphy, Idealease President and CEO, explained, “Our meeting includes a celebration of our success in 2015, our programs and growth plans for the coming year, and importantly, recognition of our top Idealease sales, service and management professionals who daily demonstrate our expertise, responsiveness and stability to our customers as ONE Idealease.”

The event featured a number of awards:
- President’s Club: Based on annual sales, service and management objectives, the goal is to provide motivation and competition among Idealease personnel. This year there were 115 members of President’s Club and they ranged from Account Managers to General Managers to Service Management. Doug Roberts of Chicago Idealease is the longest running member of President’s Club with an impressive 13 years.
- One Idealease: Recognizes Idealease locations dedicated to the company’s core values of expertise, responsiveness and stability. By setting standards of excellence, Idealease ensures consistency in service and product offerings throughout their organization. This year there were 74 locations recognized as winners, 12 of which had received the award for 17 straight years, including Badgerland Idealease in Milwaukee, WI, where owner Bill Reilley, serves as company Board Chairman.
- Supplier of the Year: Recognizing suppliers for their efforts to support Idealease in the areas critical to ongoing growth, the list included Cummins, Carrier Transicold and Navistar. Electric Guard Dog was named along with 55 other vendors as Idealease Supplier Partners.
An address by Keric Kennedy, Executive VP & COO, and Lance Bertram, Senior VP Sales, Marketing, Distribution, compared corporate competitors with Idealease’s franchise structure. Proud of their independence, they believe they offer greater service because their dealers are in the local market and therefore closer to the business. They continue to standardize their offerings via their partnership with Navistar, and announced a program with Navistar with special incentives to place front-end orders for delivery in January and February at 2015 prices.
Troy Clarke, President of Navistar, promoted the idea of specialized attention on customers and was extremely excited at the prospect of Over the Air technology — programming that would allow computers to “talk” to trucks while they are on the road, alerting the driver to everything from engine calibrations to unlocking doors if the keys are locked inside.
Lance Burnham, Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Distribution, presented the Idealease Cares Program, which shines light on locations that work with the community, charitable organizations and internships. The Beltway location is deeply involved with this program.
The Idealease meeting reunited Electric Guard Dog with a number of old friends, many of whom are also customers. They stopped by the booth to recount the vast changes they’ve experienced with the #1 Theft Deterrent Service, as well as to sign new locations to our service.
We’d like to send a special thanks to Scott Gill of Summit Truck Group: having offered to talk to anyone about us during the show, we’re not sure he was ready for the volume of people heading his way. But we sure appreciate it. Thank you, Scott, and everyone at Idealease for another great year.
