While it was the 34th anniversary of Idealease that brought together employees, suppliers, family and friends at the recent annual meeting — it was, as the theme suggests, “only the beginning” for more good things to come. Not the least of which is the level of growth and support for Idealease: attendance at the 34th Annual Meeting was up 15% over last year!

The meeting took place Sept. 7-11 — just before National Truck Driver Appreciation Week — at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO. It was an extraordinary setting and event for unrivaled opportunities to reunite, share ideas and celebrate the collective success of Idealease — a nationally renowned commercial truck lease and rental company — and its valued suppliers. There were 47 suppliers, including Electric Guard Dog, in attendance.
Among the biggest news at the event was the announcement that Navistar — a valued supplier of Idealease and leading manufacturer of commercial trucks, buses, defense vehicles and engines — has formed a wide-ranging strategic alliance with Volkswagen Truck & Bus. Volkswagen is investing $256 million in Navistar, at $15.76 a share, giving the company a 16.6 percent stake in Navistar. According to MarketWatch, the “Alliance will uniquely position Navistar to provide best-in-class products and services to customers…” This is great news for Navistar and Idealease, and everyone at the meeting could not have been more excited.
