PRNewswire,Columbia, SC – April 30, 2015:  For a third year in a row, Electric Guard Dog has scaled the ranks of Security Dealer & Integrator Magazine's annual list of America's Fastest 50 Growing Systems Integrators, climbing 14 rungs this year alone -- from 38th to 24th. The electric security fence company cited rapid growth as the reason for the substantial leap in the rankings, and the company's statistics support that explanation:

  • Three year growth percentage of 14.9%
  • 16th biggest dollar growth rate among security integrators in the U.S.
  • A compounded growth rate (CAGR) of 14% since 2001

Electric Guard Dog CEO Jack DeMao attributed the #1 Theft Deterrent's accelerated growth as, "Proof commercial companies are seeking deterrence-based security, rather than detection and delay systems." DeMao explained, "Commercial businesses with outdoor yards are aware they need perimeter security that will protect their assets without relying on assistance from police. Law enforcement must prioritize life safety calls over possible property crimes, and right now, they're shorthanded. There simply aren't enough resources for businesses to rely on detection systems alone."

DeMao also noted the rise in organized criminal activity as a reason why supply chain companies were opting for Electric Guard Dog's flagship electric fence system, as well as purchasing the company's expanded offerings in access control, building intrusion, and wireless controls. "Cargo theft crimes are becoming more organized and more sophisticated. They are using technology to track high-value loads. Supply chain businesses in trucking, logistics, and shipping know they need to bolster their security technology in response."

Cargo theft data gathered by international data gathering services such as Freightwatch and CargoNet bore out DeMao's rationale. On April 1st, SecurityInfoWatch.com cited a 36% increase in value per load stolen in 2014 commenting, "The increase shows an emerging modus operandi by organized thieves … isolating and targeting more highly valued merchandise."
